Volunteer in Cape Town

The aim of this project is to help alleviate the strain on the limited resources of the township schools by providing additional tuition or sports coaching after school. TTHBS is ideal for volunteers who want to work with teenagers. Should you be looking to volunteer in Cape Town you will find this project most rewarding and challenging as most of your time will be spent helping students on a one-to-one basis with English and Maths, or assisting teachers with sports lessons.

There is also an after-school programme where enthusiastic learners get help with their homework, receive career guidance and organise special projects.

This project works mainly with high school students from the Imizamo Yethu township at Hout Bay in Cape Town. The informal settlement is the largest in the area and is home to 30 000 people, many of whom live in corrugated iron shacks with no running water or electricity.
